Menopause arrived as a gentle reminder that I was entering the second chapter of my life—a time of self-discovery and authentic living. Unlike many women, I was fortunate not to experience the typical physical symptoms, but this transition sparked something profound within me. It catalysed me to embrace my true self and explore what truly brings me joy. As someone who has always found peace in creating—whether experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen or crafting concrete home décor pieces—I knew this was the perfect time to deepen my connection with myself and my passions.


One of the most transformative menopause discoveries on my path has been aromatherapy. As a foodie, I've always appreciated how aromas can transport us and evoke emotions. Just as the scent of fresh-baked bread can bring comfort, or the zest of lemon can energise, I've found that essential oils have become an integral part of my daily rituals for managing menopause symptoms and finding moments of peace.

The Magic of Aromatherapy in My Menopausal Journey

My journey with aromatherapy began when I was seeking natural ways to cope with the changes in my body. The beauty of essential oils lies in their ability to interact with our limbic system—the part of our brain that influences emotions, memory, and behaviour. When hormonal fluctuations overwhelm me, certain scents have become my allies in creating balance and calm.


Through my concrete home décor business at Botanical Blueprint, I began creating concrete diffusers and burners, merging my love for crafting beautiful objects with my growing appreciation for aromatherapy. In my experience, both as a user and creator, there are two main types of diffusers to consider:

These are my personal favourites, and not just because I make them! You can apply the oils directly to the concrete surface without requiring water or electricity. Caring for Your Concrete Diffuser

As someone who crafts concrete pieces, I know the importance of proper care. Here's how to maintain your diffuser:

  • Wipe the surface with a damp cloth after each use

  • Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the concrete

  • Let it dry completely before adding new oils
